frequently asked Questions
Not sure if you need a CMP?
To help you with things like GDPR, CMP and consent, we’ve rounded up the most common questions here.
Yes. By default, Joomla’s core functionality uses a session cookie to track each visitor’s session (for example, to keep a user logged in). Aside from that, the standard Joomla install uses no tracking or analytics cookies. However, any third-party extensions or scripts you add (like Google Analytics, advertising widgets, or social plugins) will set their own cookies (for statistics, preferences, marketing, etc.), and those do require user consent under GDPR. This is why a cookie consent solution like consentmanager is necessary for you to comply with the GDPR.
Our Joomla! cookie consent plugin offers full compliance without hindering your website’s SEO performance. Additionally, we provide powerful analytics tool and features to help you maximise the effectiveness of your cookie banner, increase opt-in rates, enhance user experience, and ultimately boost your revenue.
Yes, it is free. You can simply start by registering for an account here: https://app.consentmanager.net/register.php?setlang=2
Yes, we offer extensions for a wide range of CMS systems, including Joomla, HubSpot, Jimdo, Shopify, Shopware, Typo3, WordPress, WooCommerce and Magento. Head to our help page where you can search for instructions on how to install your CMS system of choice.
We charge for our solution based on usage. The more often the Joomla cookie notice is displayed, the more you have to pay. We have set up special packages for this. With a maximum of 10,000 page views, you can use our Joomla content manager for free. With up to 2.5 million views 50 euros per month. If you exceed the number of views defined in the package, you will be charged EUR 0.02 for each additional 1,000 visitors. The Enterprise package is aimed at large companies with up to 35 million visitors per month. This costs 695 euros.
CCPA applies to all users in California. A company that processes data from Californians must therefore comply correctly with CCPA. The limit for this is relatively low: just 50,000 data records per year are enough. Since a website already processes many data sets in a single visit, the CCPA very often applies to a large number of websites.
