Cookie Banner Legal Shield: Protect your business

Game changer for cookie banners: consentmanager is the first compliance solution to take responsibility for legal warnings against its customers’ cookie banners. Not sure if your cookie banner is GDPR compliant? With consentmanager’s new Cookie Banner Legal Shield, your business is protected from costly legal disputes for non-compliance with the GDPR. We assume the cost risk for justified warnings and offer fast legal support. We will thoroughly investigate your case, provide comprehensive advice and recommend specific countermeasures in the event of a warning. You can also use our dashboard to continuously monitor the compliance of your cookie banners. This allows you to focus on your core business while we take care of your legal protection. Introducing our brand new Partner Portal

We are excited to announce one of our most exciting new features: our new Partner Portal! It is now available to our partners, resellers and agency clients. This central dashboard gives you a clear overview of your customers and the features they are using, such as crawler notifications, incoming whistleblowing reports and privacy requests.
Our Partner Portal is equipped with what we call our smart management features. These include the ability to set up designs for multiple accounts, advanced white label options and flexibility with more customer management rights. A particular highlight for your business development is our integrated lead generator. Partners can automatically access the new portal using their usual login.

EU court imposes fine over Facebook link

In the first ruling of its kind, the European Court of Justice has ordered the European Commission to pay compensation for damage caused by the transfer of a German citizen’s personal data. The ruling was based on the fact that the Commission transferred personal data, including the IP address, to Meta Platforms, Inc. via the ‘Login with Facebook’ hyperlink on the website of the Conference on the Future of Europe without sufficient authorisation.

The Commission failed to provide adequate safeguards for the transfer of data to the United States. As a result, the Court ordered the Commission to pay the data subject €400. Under GDPR, the transfer of data to an organisation outside the EU still requires the explicit consent of the end user. Although registration options through popular tools such as Facebook are widely used, websites still need to ensure they are collecting consent correctly, for example through a cookie banner.
