Two US state laws in effect since 1 July 2024

On 1 July 2024, two new US state laws came into force: the Oregon Consumer Privacy Act (OCDPA) and the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act (TDPSA).
The TDPSA affects businesses operating in Texas or serving its residents. It follows a GDPR-like model, with clear privacy notices, privacy assessments for high-risk activities, and strict rules for deidentified and pseudonymous data. Enforcement will be handled by the Texas Attorney General, with significant penalties for non-compliance.
The OCDPA applies to companies doing business in Oregon or providing services to Oregon residents, and establishes thresholds for data control or processing. It gives consumers the right to access, correct, delete and obtain their data, to opt out of data sales and targeted advertising, and requires opt-in consent for the processing of sensitive data.

Further optimisations and adjustments in July

An improved consent chart has been added to the dashboard, which clearly displays the consent funnel. In the Setup Wizard, the use of Google Consent Mode and the associated simplified setup have been taken into greater account.

Furthermore, a display problem when switching from one reporting to another and a display error with some country names in connection with traffic values have been fixed. It is now also possible to select an existing CMP that is in staging mode for reporting or the crawler report.

Further innovations and optimizations can be found in the complete release log:
