Design refresh: New look for your CMP dashboard

We have redesigned the user interface to make it more structured and clear, and to simplify navigation through our many functions. Following the addition of new features such as the Accessibility Package and Compliance Monitor in recent months, a design refresh was the next logical step. Log in and experience our optimised design for yourself!

Data protection authority (1): Mobile apps in focus in 2025

France’s data protection authority, the CNIL, has announced that mobile apps will be a key focus of its enforcement efforts in 2025. The regulator has already been conducting targeted audits since the beginning of this year. In this article, we summarize the key requirements and outline what app providers should prepare for. We also discuss how consentmanager’s App Monitor can help you detect data privacy risks in your mobile app early on and keep you one step ahead of regulatory demands.

Data protection authority (2): Websites missing consent for YouTube

As part of its first automated website check, the German Federal Commissioner for Data Protection (BfDI) identified 40 federal websites on which YouTube videos were embedded without prior user consent — a clear violation of the TDDDG and the GDPR. Despite the BfDI issuing guidance on this matter in 2023, numerous public institutions continue to embed videos in a way that initiates data transfers, including users’ IP addresses, without prior consent. Consequently, the BfDI has issued 40 advisory letters and plans to follow up by the end of 2025 to ensure that the necessary changes have been implemented. YouTube videos can be used in compliance with data protection laws, but only if integrated correctly. Websites must therefore be prepared to correctly implement and block not only YouTube, but also all third-party services where consent is legally required. Using our Compliance Monitor tool in your consentmanager dashboard, you can easily scan and keep track of such risks and quickly address them. Simply enter your website’s URL and start scanning!
