consentmanager certified for Google’s new CMP requirements for the EEA and UK

A recent announcement Google will require all partners using Google’s publisher products – Google AdSense, Ad Manager or AdMob – to use a Google-certified Consent Management Platform (CMP) that integrates with the Transparency and Consent Framework (TCF) when serving ads to users in the European Economic Area (EEA) or the United Kingdom (UK). consentmanager was one of the first CMPs to be certified by Google for this new requirement.

Important Announcement: Google’s New Requirement for CMP Integration

Google’s new requirement is a decision made based on the finalized TCF version 2.2, recently launched on the 16th of May by IAB Europe. In 2020, IAB Europe’s Transparency and Consent Framework (TCF) had been integrated into all of Google’s ad serving systems and to further ensure consistency in the application of this standardized framework across the publisher ad ecosystem, Google is now requiring CMPs to follow suit and meet their criteria of a Google Certified CMP.

consentmanager has long been an advocate for consistency in the online advertising consent experience and greater transparency between ad publishers and end users. Our cookie consent solution is already up to date to meet the new CMP requirements prior to the announcement.
